For now people love it, but most of them have been through and through, ascensions and stuff and only play the first game, because they are bored of waiting for the sequel.This category is temporary until further details are added and as such some creatures are subject to change, this is to help keep track of the creatures shown so far through Ark 2's no I'm not saying you're wrong completely, just that game's popularity is tricky. I'm honestly not in such rush, I've just started playing ARK with my friends shortly before christmas, so I've still to explore the stuff out of this game, maybe later (like much much later) migrate to the second game as well, but for the time being, I'm home at ARK. There's a huge hype about ARK2 and the reason people still play ARK, for a majority of them, is, because ARK2 has yet to come out this year. Yes, it is popular, I don't deny it, but when ARK2 comes out, you might be surprised as how many people would abandon the former game for the later. So the "popularity" reason is a little bit off here. Since the topic actually is about the end of ARK when ARK2 comes out, it's quite reasonable, that many people would migrate from the first game to the sequel. The worldwide popularity of ARK doesn't really matter, because part of the reason, why ARK is so popular has also to do with ARK2 not being out yet, so there's like zero rivalrly at this point in time.
